Rite Rug

Getting it right at Rite Rug

Going to Rite Rug was definitely overwhelming!  Prepare yourself to be a little stressed out from all of the options, price variations, and mind-wandering (for example, my mind went to these places: "Well then what color kitchen table will work with these floors?" and "What colors paint are we then limited to?" and "What about colors for curtains?"

After I was able to get past worrying about these decisions, I got back to
the main focus: make our selections around what pictures we had saved, pinned, and swooned over.  Once we did that, we were effective in eliminating some selections and narrowing down our final selections.  We left our first meeting having decided on everything, but it took a second trip back to confirm our hardwood flooring and carpet colors.

We really wanted to go with the thicker planks and distressed  hard-wood, but we got way over budget way too fast with that.  But, the trade-off for sacrificing that was we got hardwood in our 'dining room' and foyer!  Not sure how we will use that 'dining room' space yet (a sitting room, an office maybe?) but having hardwoods enables to change it over the years with the simple switch of a rug!

Here are our selections:

Granite: Caramel Fantasy
Cabinets: Scottsdale Maple Espresso
Hardwood: Bruce Dundee 3.25" Espresso
Kitchen/Morning Room Paint: SW 7512 Pavillion Beige

Railing: Stain: Midnight Black
Family room carpet: Graystone 105 Amazing Greige
Basement carpet: Courtyard Manor 700 Apple Butter

Master & Guest Bath Vanity: Scottsdale Maple Espresso cabinets w/ standard White Cultured Marble and laminate Initiator 66180
(lucky for us, my dad is super handy and we will upgrade to a ceramic stone floor soon)

Laundry Room floor: Laminate Initiator 66180

We also did the 8lb pad upgrades throughout the house, and upgraded to the larger shower in the master bath.  There will not be the soaking tub, but instead a linen closet in its place!
